A brand that stands for design classics. The unique success story of Thonet began with the work of master Michael Thonet (1796-1871), who established the transition from manual furniture production to industrial production. In the 1930s, the company was the world’s largest producer of innovative furniture, which was designed by a number of famous architects including Mart Stam, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Marcel Breuer. Their clear, open and simple forms were an expression of a new attitude in every-day culture and architecture, which became famous under the catchphrase “New Objectivity”.

Boardbar were first to come up with the idea to use trolleys in everyday life and not just in planes. They continually demonstrate inventiveness with many newly developed objects. New Tendency is a Berlin-based design studio that applies Modernist design principles onto contemporary objects of the everyday. In Bauhaus tradition, New Tendency creates products characterized by conceptual design, clean aesthetics and functional form, handcrafted in Germany. When interviewed by Kinfolk Magazine they revealed that "Our work is based on the topology of everyday objects. The user’s need becomes the essence of our creations".
